Hello! I'm a friend of <img class="avatar" src="a.deviantart.net/avatars/e/m/e…" alt=":iconemily-and-flandre:" title="Emily-AND-Flandre" />, so naturally, when she critiqued this, I saw it and I might as well make one. As much I want to say that the picture isn't a good quality, I will try to omit that. Also, do note that I may go over the top with my critique, but I'm still learning. Well, here it goes.

Despite what I just said, this picture has really great potential. I especially love the hair color and you got the body proportions pretty well. Also, I like the eyes and the glasses, so for an half-hour drawing, it's pretty decent.

However, let's go onto the cons. First off, the skin color really disturbs me. I don't know what you were intending to do, but it looks like you colored it with three or four different colored pencils and therefore, makes it too unnatural. I would probably use a light brown colored pencil and lighten the skin and press harder on the pencil in the darker parts. I mean, you don't have to do that, but my point is that try to keep the skin color consistent when you're coloring. Keep only two colors to color skin, at max, to be on the safe side.

I could say something about the jaw, but that just takes practice.

The picture is a bit too dark, but you can remedy that by either putting a light on it to make it brighter, use programs such as GIMP or Photoshop to lighten it up more, or get a scanner. However, I can see just fine, but that's a free piece of advice.

Overall, for a half-hour drawing, you did pretty well. You got great potential, that's for sure.

If I displeased or insulted you in some way, I'm very sorry. Usually, I'm still trying to control what I say, so my critiques maybe too harsh and hence, I'm working on it.

Happy Drawing and Keep Going!
